Aberdeen FC Community Trust has obtained financial backing for a new community playing surface at Cormack Park, with construction now underway. The funding, contributed by various national and local partners, intends to widen football opportunities for underrepresented communities and bolster the club's expanding women's and girls' initiatives.
The development is anticipated to finish in a future spring. It will enable the trust to deliver more community football initiatives, especially aiming to grant further access for local grassroots clubs. AFCCT chief executive Peter Davidson stated this project would strengthen the connection between the club's first team and its community work at the shared training base.
Supporting partners consist of the UK Government-backed Pitching In Fund, the Scottish FA's Member Support programme, the Scottish Football Partnership Trust, Intelligent Play technology and the Cormack Family Foundation. The trust will provide ongoing updates to supporters, stakeholders and the local community as building continues.
