Aberdeen FC launch new home kit for 2026/27 season

Aberdeen FC have unveiled their new home kit for the 2026/27 campaign, drawing inspiration from the city's coat of arms and its iconic leopard motif. The Dons' first kit designed by Macron since their partnership began this summer also brings back the club's traditional crest from the pre-1980s era. The release follows their recent 2-0 win over Brora Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup, where they debuted their all-white away kit.

What's new in the design?

The striking red home shirt features an all-over sublimated leopard graphic, paying homage to the two leopards gifted to Aberdeen by King James I in the 14th century. The design includes subtle vertical stripes and the historic city motto "HAPPY TO MEET, SORRY TO PART, HAPPY TO MEET AGAIN – BON ACCORD" on the internal tape. Macron apologized for production delays, with shirts expected to arrive in mid-to-late August.

Why the leopard motif matters

The leopard has been a symbol of Aberdeen since medieval times, representing loyalty and strength. The club's new kit brings this historic emblem to the forefront, blending tradition with modern design. The old crest's return nods to Aberdeen FC's heritage as they look to improve on their current 8th-place standing in the Premiership (33 points, 9W-6D-18L, -15 goal difference).

When can fans get the new kit?

While the shirts are available for pre-order now, Macron confirmed they'll be in stores from mid-to-late August. The delay has disappointed some supporters, but the Italian manufacturer assured fans the wait will be worth it. Aberdeen will hope their new look brings better fortunes as they trail league leaders Heart of Midlothian by 37 points.
