Aberdeen FC's Scottish Cup final victory over Celtic was a thrilling match, with the Dons ultimately triumphing in a penalty shootout. The match, played at Hampden, saw Aberdeen's Dimitar Mitov make two decisive penalty saves to become the hero. Alexander Jensen had the tough task of keeping Daizen Maeda quiet, and stuck to it well, earning a 7 rating. Mats Knoester was solid in the heart of defence, while Alfie Dorrington's own goal was a significant black mark against his name. Jack Milne gave a fine performance in the heart of the defence, despite being pitched in at the last minute. Nicky Devlin acquitted himself well in an unfamiliar left-sided defensive role, and Graeme Shinnie worked hard in the engine room. Leighton Clarkson struggled as a creative force, but Ante Palaversa worked hard in the centre of midfield. Topi Keskinen was rarely seen, and was replaced early in the second half. Kevin Nisbet was barely in the game, with most of the play behind him. Substitutes Pape Habib Gueye and Shayden Morris made an instant impact, with Morris scoring a goal. Dante Polvara brought welcome energy and strength to the team, and scored in the shoot-out. Oday Dabbagh was well marshalled by the Celtic defence, and Jack MacKenzie was pretty resolute after being introduced from the bench. Celtic's Kasper Schmeichel was horribly at fault for Aberdeen's equaliser, and was unable to save any of Aberdeen's penalties. Alistair Johnston didn't have much to do defensively, but struggled to use his front-foot abilities. Cameron Carter-Vickers had very little to do, but what he did do he did well. Liam Scales had a relatively quiet afternoon, and Greg Taylor was fairly quiet defensively. Callum McGregor didn't exert the influence expected, and missed the first penalty before ending the game in tears. Arne Engels struggled to exert any significant influence, despite seeing an effort hit a post. The win was a significant one for Aberdeen FC, and will be remembered for a long time. The Dons' victory was thanks to the heroics of their players, and the team's determination and hard work. Aberdeen FC's fans will be delighted with the result, and will be looking forward to the team's next match. The Scottish Cup final was a thrilling affair, with both teams giving it their all. In the end, it was Aberdeen FC who emerged victorious, and they will be celebrating their win for a long time.
