Findlay Marshall, a rising star on loan from Aberdeen FC, has publicly shared his ambitious masterplan to secure a first-team breakthrough at Pittodrie next season. The talented midfielder has garnered significant attention following an impressive loan spell with Arbroath FC, where his performances have earned him a PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year nomination.
Marshall's exceptional form for the Red Lichties in the Scottish Championship this term has been a key factor in Arbroath's unexpected promotion playoff bid. The 20-year-old sensation has rattled in 15 goals, showcasing his goalscoring prowess and earning him a new contract with Aberdeen FC, signalling the club's faith in his potential.
Despite his immediate focus on helping Arbroath FC achieve their dream of reaching the Scottish Premiership, Marshall remains firmly set on his long-term goal of establishing himself at his boyhood club, Aberdeen FC. He aims to transition from a successful loan period to a pivotal role within the Dons' squad.
Reflecting on his time at Gayfield, Marshall expressed his satisfaction: “It’s been really good. When I first arrived on loan, I didn’t know what to expect but I’ve played every game and really enjoyed it. Hopefully we can push on in the play-offs.” He added, “Arbroath came up last year, so going into it I didn’t really know what to expect being a newly-promoted club. But we’ve done well and we have a really good chance.”
Looking ahead, Marshall is eager for the upcoming play-off fixtures with the Smokies before returning to Aberdeen FC for pre-season training. He stated, “I’m looking forward to the next few games then going back into pre-season with Aberdeen and see what happens.”
Arbroath FC is scheduled to face Dunfermline in the play-off quarter-finals next week, a crucial step in their quest for top-flight football, with Findlay Marshall expected to play a key role.
