Aberdeen FC suffered a 3-0 defeat to Celtic at Parkhead on Tuesday, extending their winless run to three Scottish Premiership matches. The Hoops maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 season with goals from Camilo Durán, Benjamin Nygren, and Yang Hyun-jun.

Celtic took the lead when Camilo Durán found half a yard of space at the edge of the box before unleashing a venomous strike. Benjamin Nygren doubled the advantage after the Aberdeen defence failed to clear the ball, allowing him to finish calmly into the corner. Yang Hyun-jun added a third late on to seal the victory. Marius Müller in the Aberdeen goal conceded all three goals despite making several saves, including one to deny Shumaira Mheuka’s close-range effort.

Aberdeen manager made four changes at half-time in an attempt to revive the side, but the visitors failed to create clear chances. Ayoub Mouloua headed wide for Aberdeen, while Gavin Molloy’s header struck the crossbar. Oliver Sorensen’s glancing effort also went just wide of the post. Shumaira Mheuka, who joined Aberdeen on loan from Chelsea earlier that day, forced Müller into a good save down to his right but could not find a breakthrough.

The defeat leaves Aberdeen FC in tenth place in the Scottish Premiership with three points from four games, their record standing at 1W-0D-3L and recent form LLLW. They have scored just two goals and conceded seven, giving them a goal difference of -5 and leaving them nine points behind league leaders Celtic. The side has not beaten Celtic in their last 28 league meetings, a run that now extends further.

Aberdeen will host Celtic at Pittodrie on 2026-12-19 in a important early-season rematch. Currently sidelined are Bradley Lyons, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Kristers Tobers, and Kusini Yengi, all missing due to injury. Oliver Sorensen, a recent signing, and Shumaira Mheuka, the new Chelsea loanee, both featured but were unable to impact the scoreboard.
